
Predance is a 30 minute class for 2 ½- 3 year olds. Creative Movement (body awareness, fine and gross motor skills exercises, music awareness etc.) and ballet basics will be taught. (Child must be 2 ½ by December 2010)
4-5 year old Ballet/Tap Combination classes are 45 minutes long and the dancers will begin to learn basic ballet and tap technique. They will learn to be aware of their movements with the music, as well as, picking up on basic rhythms. This class is for students who will enter kindergarten in the fall of 2010 or 2011.
Ballet is a great class for all levels. Develop the fundamentals of dance through control, poise, precision, fluency and grace using the technique and style of classical ballet. Ballet classes for most age groups are once per week for 30 minutes (1st grade and up).
Tap teaches students of all ages to become rhythmic percussionists with their feet. The dance style enhances student’s musical awareness and ability to interpret rhythms. This is a great dance class for all those children that love to make music whether vocally, with traditional instruments or by banging on mom's pots and pans. Tap classes for most age groups are once per week for 30 minutes (1st grade and up)
Jazz is based on the natural movement of the body and is designed to increase body control and coordination. Jazz classes for most age groups are once per week for 30 minutes. (1st grade and up)
Hip Hop involves movement that has elements of poppin', locking, and breaking as well as freestyle movement to give students the opportunity to develop their own sense of style. Hip Hop classes are 30 minutes and meet once per week. (4th grade and up)
Jazz/Hip Hop Combo involves the instruction of jazz technique but we will begin introducing some “hip hop” elements. This class is for 1st-3rd grade students.
We do have advanced levels of all classes. Students may audition for the AP program when entering 3rd grade and for Tap Institute when entering 5th grade. Please contact the studio for more information and pricing on these programs. |
