Kelley Puckett
Kelley has been dancing for many years, beginning at Amy’s School of Dance and later moving to Capital City Dance Studio in Frankfort where she competed and won titles in several competitions throughout the years. After teaching for a total of 12 years, 7 at Capital City and 2 years with Jenny Puckett Dance Academy, Kelley purchased Jenny Puckett Dance Academy. She is the current owner and director of KPDA and enjoys teaching and watching all types of dance. She has also judged and choreographed several pageants in the area. Kelley feels it is very important to always take your education further. She is currently doing this by attending dance teaching conventions throughout the year and is also working towards her degree in education.
Katie Hamilton
Katie and her family have been involved in dance for a long time. Curtain Call Dance Studio, in Lawrenceburg, was owned by her cousin and operated as a family effort. Her dad made the props, her cousins taught the classes, all in the back room of her Aunt and Uncle’s store. So inevitably as soon as she was old enough to walk she was old enough to dance. Her formal training began at 2 ½ and she remained at Curtain Call until it closed in 1989. In 1991 she moved to Capital City Dance Studio in Frankfort, KY where she continued to train in Tap, Jazz and Lyrical.
During Katie's time at Capital City she was involved in several productions that won titles at both the Frankfort Arts Foundation and the State Fair’s Coca-Cola Talent Classic. These competitions lead to various appearances as special entertainment around the Bluegrass. It was during her high school years when she began choreographing for pageants, dance teams and individuals. She has been teaching at Kelley Puckett Dance Academy for four years.
Sara Ratliff
Sara has been dancing since the age of four. She has always had a passion for the arts and has used it in many aspects of her life. While in High School, Sara was the feature baton twirler for the majorette squad. She was also asked to perform at the Frankfort Arts Foundation Showcase as a soloist. She loves to perform and was able to do so in several pageants she entered. She was crowned Miss Western Hills High School in 2006 where she performed a pointe ballet to a song from the popular musical "Thoroughly Modern Millie." That same summer she was crowned Miss Franklin County Fair and attended the state fair pageant in January 2007. Sara has taken classes in jazz, tap, and ballet, but she favors pointe most of all. Sara has always loved children and is currently in college where her major is elementary education. She is honored to be able to pass a skill that has meant so much to her down to younger generations.
Casey Harlan
Casey is the newest member of the KPDA staff. She is a junior at Anderson County High School and is captian of the dance team. Casey has been dancing since the beginning of Jenny Puckett Dance Academy and excels in many subjects. She has spent the last 2 years as a student teacher at KPDA and has done a terrific job.
